"Ancient Chinese Proverb; A book is like a garden carried in the pocket".....this has little or no relavance to the post, but I've never read more wisdom in one sentence....
I was sitting Hyde Park this morning at 6am, because there is truely nothing more stunning than watching the sun rise over the majestic garden, it is a constant reminder to me of how fragile life on earth is. I was reading my favourite novel, Wuthering Heights, as i watched the sleepy city come to life, and then.... it struck me.
I had heard about soundscapes (definition: a sound or combination of sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment), and i thought, what place better to make a soundscape of, than the city of Sydney?
I got out my recording equipment and began at once. Sydney is so rich with sounds! I mixed it together when i got home and sent it to a place where they convert MP3s into vinyl.... how vintage is that! Luckily I have my trusty Emerson record player to play it on, anyway, I took my vinyl and record player to my favourite market in the world (Glebe of course) and me and a couple of friends set it down on the grass, turned it on.... and danced.
Other kindred spirits joined in on our manifesto, and hours seemed to pass in a matter of minutes.
Its moments like these when I realise, I'm so glad to be indie/alternative.
oh and just to share... i got the most gorgeous new Docs, they're floral patterned and they remind me of spring breezes on a daisy field. Just looking at them transports me to a better place.

Poet Dancing in the rain
A poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning. - James Dickey
Hallelujah
today I felt these very rain drops on my ivory complexion, me and a couple of fellow artists were ambling down Foveaux Street when the first droplets burst forth from their cloudy confine and graced us with their presence on earth, and thats all it took to set my soul on fire.... which the many honking cars could not douse
We danced until our feet were sore and blistered (turns out those shoes weren't such a good buy after all, back to vinnies with them!!)
heres a picture of Ezra, frolicking on the street

jubilee
good finds this week;
today i was rumaging through a dumpter and i found the best 70's ray bans, I don't know what kind of monster would chuck them out, but I'm just glad that they were found before any harm was done
also, i was looking through one of my favourite shops (Vinnies of course!) and i stumbled across some divine brown heeled lace up boots. They have some mould in the toes and the soles are worn away to nothing, but they were a steal and any fungus i may catch is well worth looking more than fantastic, right?
